The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI), is an independent and internationally prominent research institute in the transport sector. Its principal task is to conduct research and development related to infrastructure, traffic and transport. VTI has about 200 employees and is located in Linköping (head office), Stockholm, Gothenburg, Borlänge and Lund.
VTI will be responsible for development of the hybrid infrastructure assessment tool as well as for structuring the impact assessment of the eight use cases. Based on the application of the enhanced traffic models and the impact assessment tool on the eight use cases, VTI is responsible for drafting design recommendations on how the infrastructure can be adjusted in order to better handle the introduction of AVs.
