Showcasing new & emerging smart mobility technologies within urban transportation infrastructures
Transport is changing dramatically with the advent of new technologies, changing demand patterns and the challenges of addressing climate change. Smart Urban Mobility Solutions (SUMS) 2019 comprises an exhibition and 2-day conference programme that will take place at the SEC, Glasgow on 15-16 May 2019.
The event is aimed at representatives of cities and local/regional/national governments and authorities, transport authorities, city and transport infrastructure contractors, decision makers and advisors from private ventures, large utility groups and technologists; and of course anyone eager to find out more about mobility solutions.
The event leverages Scotland’s long history of innovation in Intelligent Traffic Control and Glasgow’s pioneering work on Smart Cities. Topics addressed will include connected and autonomous vehicles, MaaS (mobility as a service), sharing services models, low carbon vehicles, transport tracking and information systems, smart parking, etc.
Decarbonisation, decentralisation, digitalisation and democratisation (i.e. end-user choice) all play important roles in the conference; so too does climate change and wider social impacts; Brexit-effects; planning for success and the alignment of data requirements through all stages of delivery; and innovative solutions and finding answers to the questions we used to ignore.
